I have a degree in writing and have worked as a proofreader and editor. Mistakes in punctuation, grammar, spelling, typesetting--they assault my eyes like sawdust. I have returned menus to befuddled servers, redlined with loops and underlines and carrots. I realize the corrections probably are never made, but I feel better for the exercise.
I'm new to eHarmony, and I'm trying to maintain an open mind about the men with whom I'm matched. Not being able to type, or spell, or write, should not alone be reason to eliminate otherwise good men....right? Afterall, if there was math involved I'd be in trouble, too. I'm thinking three-strikes-and-out. These issues can be one strike; if it's the only one I can move forward.
davd is an interesting case. No initial cap, and I can't help but think he omitted a vowel as well. In my head, he's "dvd," one strike because I'm an On-Demand kind of girl. However, no other errors in his initial profile; I'm going to overlook it. Then there is r, who also favors lower-case and shuns punctuation. r likes to spend leisure time fishing hanging out with my friends on the river hanging with my 20 month old grandaughter. I enjoy fishing and friends and children, too, but I don't think r is my type.
It was while reading about K that I decided this issue could not be one's denouement. K's profile shows an attractive man, sharp and alert in appearance, yet begins by sharing he is most passionate about Listening to musics. Next, his occupation: technical enginerring. Focused like the sole witness of a train wreck, I venture onward...what will he say next? I can be comfortable at the zoo or at the theater made me giggle, but was mechanically sound.
And then, I struck gold: I have a french accent, so I hope you accept that as a quality and not as a defect. Oh, yes, K....all is forgiven--Venir à maman!
I once broke up with a guy because he said he "crunked up" his truck. In that particular case, it was the correct choice.
